July 30–August 2 · Grant Park
Lollapalooza
Chicago’s largest music festival returns to Grant Park with more than 170 artists performing across eight stages. Whether you are attending for the headliners, discovering a new artist, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, Lollapalooza remains one of the city’s signature summer events.
August 7–9 · Lakeview
Northalsted Market Days
One of Chicago’s largest neighborhood festivals returns to Northalsted with live music, food, dancing, drag performances, and more than 250 vendors. The lively weekend celebration stretches through the heart of Lakeview and offers entertainment throughout the day and evening.

August 8 · Bronzeville
Bud Billiken Parade
This beloved Chicago tradition brings marching bands, dance groups, community organizations, and back-to-school celebrations to Bronzeville. It is a joyful celebration of Chicago’s youth, culture, and community.

Taylor Street Little Italy Festa

Chicago Air and Water Show
Head to North Avenue Beach—or find a viewing spot anywhere along the lakefront—for one of Chicago’s most iconic free summer events. Watch aerial demonstrations and water performances unfold against the city skyline.
Local tip: The full rehearsal takes place on August 14 and offers another opportunity to see the performances, often with slightly smaller crowds.
